Traditions of Herbal Disease Treatment

Description

In old times, there were no hospitals where people could get cured and in case of need they therefore visited a wise man hakeem. The hakeem [knew] medicine to cure certain dangerous diseases like typhoid and bone fractures. There are four types of typhoid: commonly called red, white, black, and yellow typhoid and the hakeem knows through the patient's nerves which typhoid he or she has and which body part hurts. If it is difficult to identify the type of typhoid, the tongue needs to be examined. If the patient is affected by black typhoid then the hakeem used black mulberry roots, pleas of lemon, and imbile to make powder and give instructions accordingly. For white typhoid infection, the patient drinks boiling water of roots of the small tree hapute in the morning and at night which leads to a complete recovery within a short time. Nerve examinations also help to diagnose problems of the back bone, chest, or elsewhere in the body. If a patient has pain in the back the powder of churkah48 roots is used. Holding the patient's wrist for the identification of renal ailments helps to determine which kidney is hurting and the roots of the small wild grass pakhur is effective in curing kidney disorders. If the kidney contains only some dust the pakhur root water needs to be employed for a week but for the treatment of kidney stones white sugar needs to be added to this extract which allows the removal of the stones. The hakeem also fixes fractured bones and cartilage without any rod but if he encounters and unknown disease he recommends visiting a doctor rather than foolish experimenting.
