The Saint Killed by his Camel
Description
Assalam-o-Alaikum. Our elders used to say that the population of Cholistan (Rohi) once was very low. In some places, there were only a few people who were equal to non-existent. Rumors go about an elder here, whose beard was white, and he wore very nice clothes so that he looked like a saint of Allah. He had a very strong personality and was also very well mannered. [Many} people had become his disciples. This story is from the time when there was no fencing on the borders between India and Pakistan. The elder used to spend some time in the Cholistan area of the Pakistani side but also some other time on the other side of the border, which is now India. At that time, the elder had a camel which he used to ride and on which he used to also carry his food. The people respected him a lot because he was a man who was always busy in worship. People used to take their wishes to him and many of these he accepted. One day, the elders went to the Indian side from where he did not return. As people were worried, they tried to find out what had happened and learned that the elder had died because his camel had killed him. Many people of the Rohi know that in the months of January and February, camels often behave inappropri-ately towards their masters [...]. According to the people passing by, they saw that the camel was crying after having killed the saint. This underlines the truthfulness of this event as the camel is an animal that once it makes a mistake, it starts crying.
His disciples made a shrine at the place where the elder was buried and even today, people come from all over the country and give their prayers at this place. People named him Tigidi Peer. His shrine is located 10km away from the Indian border and 134 km outside of Yazman. People started settling at the toba near the shrine and it kept growing.
