Importance of Culture

Description

Assalamu alaikum, my name is Qurban Muhammad, I am a farmer and also a [mountain] climber. You have come to interview me for which I would like to thank you very much. Today I will tell you a few things about my ancestors who were farmers. Their culture and traditions showed a deep love and care for their land and their family. Nowadays, our farming and derived wealth is decreasing. Because of [social changes] and increasing popula-tion, we are losing respect for our culture, our [social] wealth, and our love [for each other]. Our ancestors have experienced a lot of pain in farming these lands where they grew everything [in Shimshal], they did not bring any food from outside. Now many facilities are available for us: a built road exists, the government provides us with [subsidized] wheat while before we used to make Desi soup for ourselves. But today, our old culture has been destroyed. Thank you very much for your attention.
