The Battle of Baraam Shehzada with a Deu from Danyore

Description

My name is Yardad Khan, I am 80 years old, and my father's name is Khush Dad Khan. In our region of Naupur used to live the three deu brothers Tefoor, Sefoor, and Gafoor. They lived in a place which is on the top of Naupur, called Hapukar whereby at that time the entire Naupur village was a garden of flowers. These three brothers had a sister named Gul Adaam. In those times, there was a deu living in a cave in Danyore near Gilgit who forcibly took their sister to his place. One day, a man named Baraam Shehzada arrived and entered the flower garden, tying his horse to a plant. The three brothers saw him from above and sent one of them to get him out of there. He went but Baraam Shehzada injured him and laid him on the ground. Then the second brother came, but he also couldn't defeat Baraam Shehzada. In this way, all three brothers came and saw that he was stronger than them and that their sister Gul Adaam had been forcibly taken by the deu in Danyore. They said if he could rescue her, they would give him their sister in marriage. Baraam Shehzada agreed and went to rescue her from the deu in Danyore. The deu used to sleep for six months and thereafter stay awake for six months. As he was sleeping, Baraam Shehzada went with his sword and touched the deu's foot to wake him up. The deu was pleased, thinking he had food for today. He proposed to Baraam Shehzada that they should have a fight and he should strike him first. Baraam Shehzada struck him hard with his sword. The deu then told him to strike again because after the second strike, the deu's wound would heal and he would survive. However, Baraam Shehzada already knew this and told the deu to smell his sword. When the deu smelled it, he sensed the smell of blood, collapsed, and died. This way, Baraam Shehzada rescued Gul Adaam and brought her back.
